The Island of Tatihou (L'île de Tatihou)

Situated just up the coast from the Campsite, Tatihou Island is just across from the picturesque port of Saint Vaast la Hougue. Take one trip around the island at high-tide, and another at low-tide, to get the best views of the island. 


At low tide, Tatihou becomes a Peninsula. You can get there by foot, when the tide is far enough out. Find out information about the tides at the Tatihou Reception (Accueil Tatihou).  Set aside about 25 minutes for the trip, with shoes on don't worry about the seawater.

30km from Cherbourg, 80km from Saint-Lo and 100km from Bayeux, you can get there from Paris by the N13 for Cherbourg. The nearest train station is Valognes, on the line Paris to Cherbourg (SNCF).

You can reach Saint-Vaast by an amphibious vehicle (58 people). The journey times vary depending on the tides (in general, every 30 mins at high tide, once an hour at low tide).
